Parental Control
Parental Control

Your child’s account.
Your control. Always.

Children don’t create accounts on LogbookOS. Parents do. Every action, every connection, every device — nothing happens without your approval.

Edu Server DIY Server
How it works

You create it. You control it. They use it.

1
You create your own account
Go to the server (Edu or DIY), enter your email, receive a PIN, and create your account. This is your master account.
2
Create a dependent account for your child
From My Profile → Dependent Members. You choose a username and a QuickPin for your child. The account inherits your email — all notifications go to you, not the child.
3
Set up their SafeDevice together
Sit with your child, open the browser they’ll use, and mark it as a SafeDevice. This is the only device they can log in from.
4
Connect them to an educator’s workspace
You choose which workspace your child joins. The educator cannot add your child — only you can make that connection.

Your powers

Everything goes through you.

As the master account holder, you have full control over your child’s account. Here’s exactly what that means.

Workspace connections
Only you can connect your child to an educator’s workspace. Only you can disconnect them. The child cannot join or leave a workspace on their own.
Device access
Only you can add or remove SafeDevices for your child. The child cannot register new devices, and cannot log in from any browser you haven’t approved.
Purchases
The child cannot make any purchase. No Usage Packs, no content unlocks, no transactions of any kind. All billing goes through your master account.
Content visibility
The child only sees content from workspaces you’ve approved. They cannot browse other workspaces, other educators, or other users on the server.
QuickPin management
Only you can set or change the child’s QuickPin. If the child enters the wrong PIN 3 times, SafeDevice and QuickPin are disabled — and only you can re-enable them.
Progress visibility
You can see your child’s progress, usage, and activity from your own dashboard. On the Edu server, the educator also sees progress — but only within their workshop, not your child’s full account.
Account deactivation
You can deactivate your child’s dependent account at any time. All workspace connections are severed, all SafeDevices are invalidated, and the account becomes inactive. You can reactivate it later if needed.

Important

With great control comes responsibility.

You have full power over your child’s account. That means you can also accidentally block them from doing things they need to do for their workshop.

Before changing settings, make sure you understand what each option does. If you remove a SafeDevice, your child loses access until you set it up again. If you disconnect them from a workspace, they lose access to all their work in that workshop.

The platform gives you the controls. Use them carefully — and when in doubt, ask the educator before making changes that affect your child’s workshop access.

Do coordinate with the educator before disconnecting your child from a workspace
Do test your child’s SafeDevice login together before the first workshop
Do keep your own master account email accessible — all notifications go to you
Don’t remove SafeDevices or change QuickPins right before a workshop session
Don’t share your master account credentials with your child
Where it works

Same system. Two servers.

Edu Server

Your child joins an educator’s workshop. The educator provides the content and guidance. You provide the approval and oversight.

The educator pays for the platform usage. Your child uses it free.

You see your child’s progress from your dashboard. The educator sees progress only within their workshop.

DIY Server

Building projects together as a family? Your child gets their own workspace with their own projects under your parental control.

Each person pays for themselves on the DIY server — but your child’s purchases go through your master account.

Same controls, same restrictions, same safety.

Privacy

Who sees what.

The parent sees
Everything. Full account, all workspaces, all progress, all activity, all connected devices. Complete oversight.
The educator sees
Only the child’s progress within their workshop. Not the child’s other workspaces, not the parent’s account, not any personal information beyond the username and workshop activity.
The child sees
Only their own work within approved workspaces. Not other students, not the educator’s dashboard, not any billing or account management information.
Multiple children

One parent. Many children. Full control.

You can create multiple dependent accounts from a single master account. Each child gets their own username, QuickPin, and SafeDevice setup. Each one can be connected to different workspaces independently.

You manage all of them from the same My Profile → Dependent Members dashboard. One place to see all your children’s accounts, devices, connections, and progress.
